Lodge Tyre Co Ltd actively promotes the production and sale of retreads as a cost effective and environmentally sustainable solution to the tyre usage problems of regional fleets. With over three decades of experience we have developed our own bead to bead range of retreads.

We also offer a full range of pre-cure retreads so we can supply a tyre for any application.

All retreads we sell undergo a thorough inspection using state of the art laser technology. The Intact 1200 Shearography machine (pictured) offers total bead to bead examination as used in the manufacture of both aircraft and Formula 1 tyres. With this machine Lodge Tyres have increased safety and reliability, and have taken customer reassurance to another level.

All Lodge Retreads are also produced on Avon premium compounds, and conform to British Standards and European Legislation. The introduction of tough new type approval governing retread tyres has resulted in the retread product carrying the European Union's 'E' mark. The Lodge retread was the first in Europe to accomplish this ECE 109 Regulation, with a percentage of the production each year being submitted for drum tests. These annual tests are exactly the same examination that new tyres have to comply with.

Retreading is considered one of the most effective and preferable methods of reusing worn tyres. The process doubles the life of a tyre thereby minimising waste and the usage of finite materials. A typical truck retread saves around 60 litres of oil by its process of vulcanising new tread onto an existing casing. Eventually scrap tyres can be processed into rubber crumb that has a variety of uses.

We take our responsibilities seriously, and all scrap tyres collected from Lodge are handled only by authorised carriers. Lodge Tyre Co Ltd is an authorised waste carrier registered with the Environment Agency (BIR/074176). Copies of certificates of registration and waste transfer notes are available on request.
